Resume: It is a delicate matter to trade spot products and financial derivatives in energy markets. Op- posite to bond and stock markets, the underlying assets are real products and a significant part of the demand for them represents a real need for the products, which can only be substituted away with some difficulties or, in some cases, only in a prohibitively costly manner. This is particularly true in the spot market, where the demand is almost always met, but where the spot price processes can be quite different from the spot price processes conventionally used in the pricing of derivatives. This pattern of real demand is also the main reason for the existence of the well-known convenience yield in energy markets. URI: http://hdl.handle.net/10398/7185 Filer i denne post: 1

URI: http://hdl.handle.net/10398/9506 Filer i denne post: 1

Integrating Wind Power into the Danish Electricity SystemJenle, Rasmus Ploug (Frederiksberg, 2015)[Flere oplysninger][Færre oplysninger]
Resume: The present study involves an inquiry into the making of a Danish energy system based on renewable energy sources. Focusing specifically on one of the major barriers to the introduction of renewable energy sources known as the intermittency problem, emphasis is put on how fluctuating electricity generation from wind turbines has been integrated into the Danish electricity system. The study focuses on the ways in which the integration of wind power in Denmark has involved the introduction and reconfiguration of a series electricity markets known as Nord Pool. Significantly, these electricity markets are engineered as control arrangements for electricity system equilibrium maintenance. When attempting to integrate wind power into the Danish electricity system by introducing or reconfiguring these control system market arrangements, metrics from economics are used to describe the ideal outcome or objective to be attained through market construction. Coupling these empirical observations with a line of inquiry concentrating on the use of knowledge, skills, and know-how in market design and management associated with the ‘performativity programme’ in the social and human sciences and especially economic sociology the thesis is framed by the following research question: How have control systems engineering and economics been mobilized in the endeavor to integrate wind power into the Danish electricity system through electricity market design and management? Answering this research question involves an analysis of three different instances of electricity market construction. All three cases demonstrate how integrating wind power into the Danish electricity system has been approached as a matter of electricity market construction increasing the capacity of Nord Pool to exert control and maintain equilibrium in the electricity system. In addition to producing insights into how the intermittency problem is being handled in Denmark, the present study seeks to augment the performativity programme in two ways. One way is to show how control systems engineering, being an understudied form of expertise within the performativity programme, has played a crucial role in the design and management of a series of markets. The other is to show how economics, being a form of expertise studied extensively by the members of the performativity programme in other empirical settings, has had heretofore undescribed functions in market design and management. An Analysis of Factors Influencing Diets of European ChildrenGwozdz, Wencke; Reisch, Lucia A.; DeHenauw, Stefaan; Lissner, Lauren; Moreno, Luis; Tornaritis, Michael; Molnar, Denes; Siani, Alfonso; Veidebaum, Toomas; Pigeot, Iris (Frederiksberg, 2011)[Flere oplysninger][Færre oplysninger]
Resume: Because interventions related to diet and other health behaviours are seldom successful and/or sustainable, it is extremely important to identify the individual factors that contribute to a healthier or unhealthier diet. To this end, we use cross-sectional data from the IDEFICS study to analyse the dietary behaviour of children aged between 2 and 9 years in eight European countries. We model the complex nature of these individual factors using structural equation modelling. Our results show that both sedentary behaviour and food exposure are strong contributors to children’s dietary choices. However, although we find a positive relation between a healthy diet and weight status for girls, weight status appears independent of diet quality for boys. These outcomes, although they permit no firm conclusions on health policy strategies, clearly suggest that further research based on longitudinal data could provide valuable insights for the design of successful prevention and intervention strategies. Resume: Corporate venturing managers have the rule of thumb that only approximately one out of ten investments really pay of in financial measures. These low odds for success, of course, put extremely high expectations to the profit yielded from the few investments that become successful. In other words, the few successful investments carry the costs of many more investment decisions. It would obviously be attractive to improve the ability to "pick the winners". In this paper, we develop a conceptual framework for understanding how firms` involvement in establishing and nurturing the venture base (the idea creation phase) enhances their ability to select ventures. De 871 huskesedler indeholdt i gennemsnit lidt over 9 vareemner. Se Figur 2 forneden i appendiks. URI: http://hdl.handle.net/10398/7677 Filer i denne post: 1

Resume: This paper is written in preparation for the ‘Wardrobe Ethnographies’ conference to be held in Herning in June 2011. It aims to provide a research framework that goes beyond a catalogue of existing literature, and to provide discussion points for the conference papers. Scholars from several different disciplines have studied wardrobes and dress practices through a range of ethnographic and related qualitative and quantitative methods. The aim of the conference and ensuing book is to bring together a series of papers which combine a discussion of research approaches and methods with an ethnographic account of research findings. We hope to make a dual argument; firstly as obbjects of study wardrobes and dress practices can generate critical and innovative insights both at micro and macro levels; , and secondly, that what I tentatively term wardrobe ethnographies are a feasible and realistic research approach that is attracting scholars from different disciplines and with different research interests. Resume: This PhD thesis is concerned with the social dynamics of Enterprise Social Media (ESM) at work. As ESM technologies are making their way on to the organizational scene, knowledge about how to understand and work with these media are in demand. Existing knowledge about ESM in organizations highlights the technological features and the new possibilities for organizational work that these media bring forward. However, the open and perpetual display of organizational connections and conversations on ESM also presents a unique opportunity for studying the role of social interactions and relationships that underlie organizational work on these platforms. The purpose of this PhD thesis is to examine ESM in light of its social dynamics and the implications of these for organizational work. In the context of this research, social dynamics refer to the interactions and relationships between actors in the organization. Conceptually the social dynamics of ESM at work are investigated in the light of three domains of ESM, sociality and work and their intersections. The investigation builds on the empirical setting of three organizations utilizing the ESM technology Yammer and involves the examination of the organizations’ use of the platform through methods of interviews and observations onsite and online. The thesis makes three central contributions to our understanding of the social dynamics of ESM at work. First, the thesis adds to existing perspectives on ESM in organizations by integrating the three domains of ESM, sociality and work. While the literature has so far treated these domains separately or in pairs, this research demonstrates how the social dynamics of ESM in organizations arise between the functionalities of the ESM technology, the sociality of the organizational members, and the work practices carried out. Second, the thesis presents a social fabric framework as a way of explaining, interpreting and understanding the social dynamics of ESM at work. Mapping the social fabric of the organization on ESM provides valuable insight into the dynamic and diverse nature of the relationships that form on the platform and how these create the basis of work. Third, the thesis contributes a relational constructivist perspective to the study of the social dynamics of ESM at work that emphasize the study of relationships between actors rather than the study of individual actors. Considering the social dynamics of ESM in organizations through the social fabric framework provides researchers and practitioners with a new way of understanding and theorizing about ESM at work. A dispositif analysis perspectiveDyrby, Signe (Frederiksberg, 2013)[Flere oplysninger][Færre oplysninger]
Resume: This paper explores the introduction of Enterprise Social Media into organizational practices. The investigation draws on Foucault’s perspective of dispositif analysis as an approach to analyzing and understanding the influence of technology on organizations. The dispositif analysis is pursued through the illustration of an organization implementing an enterprise social media technology for the practice of knowledge management. In the analysis two dispositifs are considered, a dispositif of hierarchy and a dispositif of network. A discussion is carried on the dispositif analysis as a method including opportunities and limitations. It is argued that allowing for the analysis of historically formed dispositifs can add to our way of understanding the influences of technology on the social order of organizations. A performative approach to studying processes of systemic innovation in the energy sectorBrenneche, Nicolaj Tofte (Frederiksberg, 2013)[Flere oplysninger][Færre oplysninger]
Resume: The ongoing efforts to transform energy systems towards becoming environmentally sustainable provide a rich empirical source for cases of organizational creativity in the form of collective entrepreneurship, co-creation and collaborative innovation. In this paper, I will briefly introduce the challenge of organizing knowledge production in context of open-ended energy system transitions and argue, on the ground of a critical reading of established innovation management research, that a processual approach is needed in order to analyze how system transition processes are pursued through an entrepreneurial form of collective agency-in-progress through e.g. partnership arrangements. I will put particular emphasis on presenting a methodology for doing innovation process research performatively which I have developed during the course of my ph.d. research where I have participated in a European strategic partnership since 2009. Considering this partnership as a case of relational entrepreneurship within the organization of energy research, the methodological discussion puts focus on how to study this performatively – that is, how to not only theorize and study relational entrepreneurship as a practice of others, but to perform relational entrepreneurship through a research practice. The paper comprise an introduction and then a excerpt from my methodology chapter from my ph.d. thesis which I am close to finalizing. URI: http://hdl.handle.net/10398/8831 Filer i denne post: 1

Resume: Israel Kirzner’s concept of entrepreneurship as alertness to profit opportunities is one of the most influential modern interpretations of the entrepreneurial function. Shane and Venkataraman’s (2000: 218) influential assessment defines entrepreneurship research as “the scholarly examination of how, by whom, and with what effects opportunities to create future goods and services are discovered, evaluated, and exploited.” As such, “the field involves the study of sources of opportunities; the processes of discovery, evaluation, and exploitation of opportunities; and the set of individuals who discover, evaluate, and exploit them.” Shane’s General Theory of Entrepreneurship (2003) cites Kirzner and “Kirznerian opportunities” more than any writer other than Joseph Schumpeter. More generally, the entrepreneurial opportunity, rather than the individual entrepreneur, the startup company, or the new product, has become the centerpiece of the academic study of entrepreneurship.
