Abstract: Baseret på et sample af de 1000 største danske virksomheder undersøges forekomsten af nye arbejdsorganiseringsformer i dansk erhvervsliv. Endvidere undersøges det, hvilke virksomheder der typisk implementerer de nye måder at organisere arbejdet på. Det vises at det primært er virksomheder i konkurrenceprægede og vidensintensive brancher der gør dette. De nye arbejdsorganiseringsformer implementeres i bundter. Det indikerer at de nye organiseringsformer er komplementære. Deres forekomst er endelig tæt korreleret med forekomsten af resultatløn. Det tyder på at "kontrol"- og "kommitment"- modeller for HRM ikke er modsatrettede, men tværtimod komplementære. URI: http://hdl.handle.net/10398/6350 Files in this item: 1

Abstract: Arguments derived from the theory of science have been present in strategic management discourse since at least the beginning of the 1970s. The field’s topjournal,the Strategic Management Journal, has printed several theory of sciencebased papers. Most positions in the theory of science (falsificationism, instrumentalism, realism, constructivism, etc.) have been present in the methodological discourse in the field. This chapter briefly reviews theory science applications to strategic management, before a distinctive perspective on the evolution of the strategic management field is developed. According to this perspective, science progresses when deeper level mechanisms are identified and theorized. Theoretical reduction may therefore be an independent criterion of scientific progress. Application to the strategic management field of this perspective, which in the social sciences is closely connected to the notion of methodological individualism, reveals that the field has evolved in a manner akin to a swinging pendulum, oscillating between micro and macro perspectives. Building Bridges Between the Economics of Property Rights and Strategic ManagementFoss, Kirsten; Foss, Nikolai J. (København, 2003)[More information][Less information]
Abstract: Abstract We forge linkages between the economics of property rights (Coase, Demsetz, Cheung, Barzel) and strategic management. Property rights to resources consist of the rights to consume, obtain income from, and alienate these resources. Transaction costs are the costs of exchanging, protecting and capturing property rights. We clarify the key role of transaction costs with respect to understanding value creation and the limitations and opportunities of strategizing relative to competitive forces. The economics of property rights identifies new sources of value creation (i.e., reducing the dissipation caused by transaction costs), and new types of resources (i.e., capture and protection capabilities), clarifies the role of contracting in the exercise of market power, and suggests that "strategizing" and "economizing" perspectives are related to a larger extent than is normally recognized.
